PROGRAM SUMMARY

Mercy Corps has been operational in Sudan since 2004 and currently leads humanitarian assistance and longer-term development efforts in conflict-affected River Nile، Northern State، South Darfur، Central Darfur، South Kordofan، North Kordofan، Kassala، Gadaref، and Khartoum States، supporting host communities، IDPs، returnees and refugees

Mercy Corps� current areas of programming include food security and livelihoods، WASH، health، nutrition، peace building and protection، resilience، and Market Systems Development.

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY

Operations Department provides key support to the entire Country program in procurement، asset management، warehouse management، fleet management and facilities & office management for successful program implementation.

THE POSITION Summary The Operations Officer is responsible for overseeing procurement، logistics and operations while working ly with Program، Administration، Finance and Logistics

The Officer is instrumental in supporting program activities through their services.

ESSENTIAL JOB

Procurement

Daily coordination of MC procurement activities.

Full understanding of MC procurement policies and formats. Assist، as needed، in training staff on these policies.

Assist Program and operational personnel in regular procurement planning meetings.

Assists staff as needed in creating clear and understandable purchase requests and other documentation.

Collect quotations and bids from the market for PRs as assigned by a manager � as per Mercy Corps standards and formats.

Prepare the required documentation of supplies and transactions and complete them with Mercy Corps standards.

Assist in the maintenance of thorough procurement files as outlined in the Field Procurement Policies and Procedures.

Assist the program and office staff with procurement activities، as required.

Operations

Manage the fleet and movements and ensure travel for national and international Mercy

Corps or official visitors as per the movement plans.

Any coordination required with multiple stakeholders (internal/ external) for commodities movement for and to warehouse.

Assist in purchasing items required for office operations in coordination with procurement.

Receive and certify all purchases made by Mercy Corps in the field office for operational use.

Document all Logistics procedures and keep file copies of all documentation.

Responsible for Fleet management and reporting.

Responsible for Warehouse management and reporting.
