GENERAL FUNCTION
Internews Network is seeking a Project Coordinator candidate in Iraq to support a project that aims to empower women to participate equally as citizens and decision-makers by strengthening and expanding women’s voices in Iraq. The Project Coordinator will support the project director in all aspects of the project implementation, including but not limited to coordination with local partners, preparing reports and providing relevant support for trainings and conferences.
The Project/Editorial Coordinator manages and maintains Internews projects’ social media Facebook pages and websites. As the lead editorial support staff member, the coordinator will provide proofreading, edit and improves content, monitors and evaluates the reach and quality of various media contents produced under the activities supported by Internews’ Iraq.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support project director in implementing the project activities
Lead the recruitment of participants for trainings and events.
Coordinate with project partners to ensure proper delivery of project targets.
Coordinate partners’ travel, including airfare and hotel arrangements, interacting with travel agent and program staff in coordination with Operations and logistics manager
Establish good connections and build a strong relationship with media & publication outlets across the country, mainly Central and South for dissemination purposes.
Communicate with media groups about trainings and other programs
Provide editorial support and guidance on content production
Coordinate with other staff on planning for guest speakers to workshops and programs.
Lead the selection of participants and journalists for projects’ activities as well as to have his/her own contributionaccording to the needs and the assignments which activities and trainings require.
Manage Internews projects’ social media Facebook pages and websites: Page promotion through post sponsorships, regular posting especially projects’ calls and activities , using social media as an interactive tool with the public followers through private messages, and anything else is assigned to update and improve the virtual space of internews.
Liaise with media outlets to promote publication of content produced under the project in as many media outlets as possible.
Maintain timely and accurate reporting of quantitative and qualitative data by program implementing partners, in cooperation with program staff and the M& E team.
Prepare input / drafts for quarterly and annual reports to project director.
Maintain relationships with current and potential publication partners.
Manage the story grants programs, including overseeing selection process, working with grantees, monitoring their progress, reviewing and distributing their final stories.
Any other duties assigned by program director.
المهارات
Key Qualifications: 23 years of project coordination experience.
Bachelor’s level degree required in journalism, international development, or related field, and/or specialized training/certification in monitoring & evaluation. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum 23 years of professional editorial and multimedia management experience. Related experience can include strategic planning and performance measurement, indicator selection, target setting, reporting and developing M& E and performance monitoring plans. Strong writing and copy-editing skills.
Strong organizational and inter-personal skills
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and analytical skills required.
MS Office proficiency
Teamwork and productivity
Excellent command in English, fluency in written and spoken Arabic; Kurdish is a plus
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work well with other team members, meet deadlines, and respond to changes in priorities.
