Executive Assistant / Project Coordinator (EN / ARABIC) for Country Director of Oxford Business Group
Oxford Business Group is the leading British business research and consulting firm since 1994. We partner up with governements in 40 countries including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, Nigeria, Ghana etc. to produce business intelligence, that we channel worldwide to the 9 major financial terminals, banks, investment forums, investment instiutions and global fonds, as well as media like BBC, CNN, New York Times etc. to bring foreign investment to the local economy.
Based in London and Dubai, we send teams of 34 people on the ground to produce comprehensive intelligence reports within a time span of 10 months.
For the first time in 14 years, Oxford Business Group returns to Libya in 2024 to produce the first economic analysis since the revolution, a major step towards economic stability and peace.
In partnership with the Ministry of Economy and the Libyan Investment Authority, we will meet 200300 CEOs of the major Libyan companies, Ministers, Chairmen of government instiutions, and including the Prime Minister for fundraising, interviews, informative research and networking activities.
For this project, we are looking for a brilliant and ambitious young person from Tripoli to be the Executive Assistant and right hand to me, the Country Director in Libya.
You will join me to all my meetings and you will be the correspondence between me and our clients. This is an unique opportunity to meet and befriend the political and business elite in the country.
Your duties will entail:
Joins the Country Director to 15 meetings /day with CEOs, ministers, chairmen etc.
Works together with the project coordinator and a representative of the Ministry of Economy on arranging and coordinating meetings
Provides translation between English and Arabic in meetings/interviews when needed
Maintains calendars, charts, reports to ensure that records are kept accurate (keeping track of all meetings of each staff, keeping the company outlook files updated, updating the barter chart and artwork collection chart weekly
Coordinates the driver’s schedule, informs the driver daily on the locations of the meetings for the next day for appropriate planning
Collects artwork and submits to the head office
Organises delivery of books (both to advertisers and to other contacts requested)
Ensures that s/he is available on phone / on line at all times
Ensures healthy hand over transition at the end of projects and / or end of service such as:
ensuring that Head Office is informed in full on all pending issues, completing and sending all requested charts, reports and other documents, handing over tasks to the appointed replacement, taking time to train the replacement, making list of the current needs, priorities and issues, making sure that the replacement is aware of all the procedures, manuals and guidelines etc.
EDITORIAL ASSISTANCE
Assists the advertising staff with their research (finding the largest companies within various industries, finding out contact names, researching companies’ corporate and financial information)
Assists the editorial staff with their research (helping read local papers and cutting out informative articles daily, assist in finding the most appropriate local analysts, assist the staff or analyst to find interesting companies/organisations/institutions within each sector for interview)
Liaises with the Editorial Manager, cross checks the listings in each section of the book
FINANCE ADMINISTRATION
Collects all the receipts for every expense, and assists the Country Director with compiling the expense reports
Ensures regular and on-time payment of all office and apartment utilities bills
Liaises with the head office to receive the invoices, proof read invoices and check accuracy, send invoices to clients
Works with head office to ensure timely collection against invoices – follow up with clients for payment
COMPENSATION: 4500 LYD / month

About me:
Lea Le Ngoc, female, 34-year old German citizen with Vietnamese roots. Graduated with B.A. in General Literature at University of Berlin (Germany) and M.Sc. in Business Entrepreneurship at Boston University (USA).
Career in Journalism (Financial Times, Forbes), Documentary Director for BBC, ABC News, and Deutsche Welle and Executive Producer for Netflix.
Born, raised and studied in Germany and the US. Lives in Mexico since 2016 and works for Oxford Business Group since 2021 across the Middle East as Country Director for UAE and Libya.
